Wow, Christmas has come and gone. I packed the last ornament and swept up stray pine needles yesterday. This morning when I woke up and walked into the living room I was a little sad that the tree wasn't there casting its warm glow in the room. We all had a great holiday. Christmas morning DS tried to wake us at 4:30 am, thankfully he was easily persuaded to go back to bed until 6:30. The kids were estactic and greatful for their presents. I love seeing them happy. Christmas evening as per tradition we drove to Uncle Bills to eat and laugh and eat some more. The next day we went to brothers house for more food and fun. We played Pictionary, Family Feud and Gestures. DD recorded some very interesting video as you will see. Spencer and Aaron were there for a little while, it was great to see them again. The following Saturday Hubby and I went to a cocktail party and caught up with some old friends. We laughed and laughed and hugged and reminenced. I love my friends!!!!! For New Year's Eve Chris and the kids and I just hung out together and blew a few fireworks at midnight. DD didn't make it until the turn of the year though, but she did try.

It has been so long since I have posted, I have been caught up in the activities of Christmas and I was sick for a while. I will continue to post some pictures from the events in December.

We went to Mom and Dad's Christmas weekend.

The kids were in the Christmas pagent at church.

Two wise men, too cute!
DD was in a dance recital and the Nutcracker on the same day. This picture was taken after the recital.

Thanksgiving weekend is winding down. I worked Thanksgiving day and had lunch with my hospital family then had dinner with husbands, the kids, brother and Mom and Dad. C cooked turkey, dressing, carrots, potatoes, green bean casserole and pumpkin pie. It was delicious!

The next day Brother and family joined us and we feasted on shrimp gumbo and LSU Tigers! (See below) We had such a great time.
Yesterday we went to a local tree farm and cut down our Christmas tree. We usually get a precut tree, but this year we wanted to try it this way. We bundled up and took Spike along.

Gearing Up
The holidays are at our doorsteps. I can already smell the cornbread dressing and pumpkin and egg custard pies. Some of my favorite memories of Thanksgiving are pot lucks at Uncle Bills and watching the LSU game in Lake Charles (Go Hogs Go!). Mamaw's cornbread dressing and Aunt Jane's gumbo. I love the crisp breezes and warm colors on the trees. Here is a picture of Mamaw's recipe for egg custard pie that she jotted down for me one day. I cherish it. Please share your favorite Thanksgiving memories here. Love you all.
